OUR HISTORY

Alexi Ranko, the company’s president, began his career in public works and engineering for the city of Kirkland in 2011, performing surveying alongside Mr. Sam T., Eng. The following year, during the founding of Sedge Enterprises in Rivière-des-Prairie, he met Mr. Elias G., who gave him the opportunity to learn a new profession: traffic plan designer.

Alongside Mr. Félix Maré, Eng., and Mr. Hocine Rachedi, Eng., he learned to design plans for road works. His journey continued with Mr. Normand Pilon, nicknamed the master of signage and events, who taught him how to create plans for events. His first event plan designed was for the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. It was then that he developed a particular enjoyment, an attention to detail, and realized he had a knack for event plans. He then joined and followed his mentor to the 1010 signage team to complete his first major year in signage.

Large-scale events often require meetings with various project partners such as Mr. Mario Blain from GPCM, the fire chief, the police chief, the STM, the borough… Alexi therefore presents the plans to discuss the issues: detours, access to businesses, and emergency routes.

In 2017, he was responsible for the production and deployment of signage for Montreal’s 375th anniversary events, which attracted over 2.4 million people. Following this great success, he founded Plan Civil in 2018 to diversify his services while continuing his business relationship with 1010.
